What we do with the information you give us here.

This notice covers the two places this website takes your information today: the announcement list on the home page and the contact form. The full privacy policy for the guide is published before the guide opens.

We don’t share your information for marketing

We don’t sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don’t share it with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

What we collect

Announcement list: your email address, the exact sentence you agreed to, the date and time, and the page you used.

Contact form: what you choose to send us: the topic, your name if you give it, your email address, and your message.

Business setup form (for businesses we list): the listing code from our letter, your name and role, the email address and phone numbers you give us for homeowner requests, and, if you check the text box, the exact words you agreed to and when.

For all three, we keep a shortened copy of your browser’s identification string so we can tell real messages from automated ones. We don’t record your IP address.

What we use it for

Announcement list: two emails. A short confirmation when you sign up, so you know it worked and have an unsubscribe link from the start, and one email telling you the Star Valley Home Services Guide is open. No newsletter, no offers. If we ever want to send anything beyond that, we’ll ask first.

Contact form: to answer you. You get an acknowledgment with a reference number, then our reply. We don’t add you to any list because you wrote to us.

Business setup form: to send your business homeowner requests and messages about your listing, by email, and by text only if you agreed to texts. These details never appear on your listing.

Who handles it

Only Star Valley Guide uses your information. We rely on a few service providers to run this website, store our records in the United States, and deliver our email. They handle your information only on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes. We don’t track whether you open our emails or click the links in them.

How long we keep it

Announcement list: until we’ve sent the opening note, plus 90 days for bounces and questions. Then the list is deleted. If you unsubscribe first, we keep only a record that you did, so we don’t email you by mistake.

Contact form: as long as we need to answer you. Privacy requests, and what we did about them, are kept for 24 months as the record that we handled them.

Business setup form: while your business is listed. A record of text consent is kept for five years after the last text, as the proof that you asked for them.

Your choices

Unsubscribe with the link at the bottom of any email we send. To be removed from anything, to get a copy of what we hold, or to correct it, use the contact form and choose “Privacy request.” Use the email address you gave us, so we can find your information. We confirm the request came from you before we act, and we answer within 45 days, usually much sooner.

Who we are

Star Valley Guide is an independent publication covering Star Valley and Lincoln County, Wyoming. It is published by Logistic Investments, Inc., a Wyoming corporation, and is not owned by or affiliated with any service provider. Questions about this notice go through the contact form.

You must be 18 or older to join the list or use the forms. If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it, and anyone on the announcement list is told before anything new happens with their address.
